The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Harrison Bergeron

Imagine living in the year 2081 and the whole country is perfect, nobody is better than anyone else. All of this equality is due to the 211th , 212th and 213th. Amendents. In this short story Harrison Bergeron was a rebel against the perfect government, in an extreamly futuristic irony.

This short story takes place in 2081. It starts out with Hazel and George, both who kids living in the year 2081 and they are both handicapped. Although they are not parapalegics in the way we think of handicapped people. They are handicapped because they are smarter than everyone and because of this they have to were ear pieces. These ear pieces prevent them from concentrating for too long and to knock off their train of thought. Now Harrison Bergeron is a very talented man and to keep him from being better than anyone else he is inprisoned and is forced to wear a body suit that prevents him from showing his talents.

Next, these handicaps don’t prevent Harrison from rebelling against the government and turning this short story in to an irony. First off, this short story starts off with the world in chaos because nobody is different from one another had to be handicapped of that special talent. Secondly the main character struggles for sanity and in this case Harrison being very handicapped is struggling for sanity. Lastly this short story ends in the rebellion of Harrison breaking out of jail and later getting shot down in front of live news.

In conclusion this short story and irony teaches us that nobody should be just like anyone else and we each are our own and that is how the world should be.

The Raven

Imagine having a conscience like Edgar Allan Poe and in this conscience death of your love ones haunts you forever. Thought Poe’s eyes death of his loved ones is a raven. One night this raven came rapping at Poe’s window and the only thing this raven spoke of was Lenore. In Poe’s eyes Lenore was the only woman for him. Supposedly this raven was a “radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore.” This raven is in fact Lenore’s spirit.

To begin with, the raven is obviously the most important symbol in the poem. The Raven one night comes tapping Poe’s window as lovers throw rocks at each other’s windows. This raven is Lenore’s spirit coming back to communicate with Poe to get one last word. Although this is Lenore coming back in spirit Poe cannot tell for the reason that it is a raven; a dark nothingness of a bird. Therefore in Poe’s mind it could not be Lenore; then it must be a demon bird from “Nights plutonian shore.”

In conclusion the raven will be rejected for life Poe not only rejects the bird because of it looks, he rejects it because he has it set in his mind that a raven a dark nothingness of a bird and it could not fill the spirit of his loved one Lenore.

If Hitler Lived

To begin with Adolf Hitler was one of the most feared in in the early 1900's. In 1919 Hitler joins the German worker Party which is a group of men that later became know as the Nazi Party of men that were against Germany and later had a plot to take over the whole country and in Hitler beliefs the world. What ms group very persuasive to a lot of the German people to make them turn on there own government. The people that didn’t turn would die; later after taking over most of Europe Hitler was over run by a group of soldiers that turned on him. Later in the war after Hitler was over run he didn't not want to get taken alive so he shot himself in the head on April 30, 1945. But what if Hitler didn't die? What he got away with taking over Europe and maybe later the world?

Now that Hitler got away he is on way his way to his safe house in the middle of cow country Germany. He is all alone and he is looking into establishing a new plan. The Nazi troops have been over run and Hitler is a Germany's top ten most wanted person Now Hitler is a very smart man and knows how the German government thinks and he still has connections inside the German government but if he were to send any connections such as a phone call or a letter it would be tracked and he would be hunted down.

In addition Hitler must establish a new army if he plans to take over Germany all over again but how can he do it is the question? In my opinion I would wait a while until people to forget about looking for Hitler. Though Hitler new he was most wanted person in Europe he wanted domination sooner than later so he came out of hiding and tried to contact the capital were he had people that still wanted him as a dictator so he called them up and they planned to meet him at his house in the country. At the start of the meeting they established to take over Berlin but they would need and army first and Hitler knew just the one It was a branch of the German Military that was still on the Nazi side. So he called them up and planned an attack on Berlin. Three weeks later the attack started. They got half way to Berlin before they were counter attacked and there whole company was wiped out and Hitler was later caught in his house in the country and killed.

In the end Hitler would still be over run because the truth is his troops turned on him and he did not have enough men to take over Berlin.
